    Abstract:

In this paper, the SiO2 -TiO2 / polyimide hybrid materials were prepared by using silicon and aluminum
sols obtained by sol-gel method. The mechanical properties, structure, and thermal properties of hybrid materials
were studied by means of SEM, DMTA, and TGA. The results show that the impact strength and flexural strength of
hybrid materials are all improved by adding inorganic particles, when the content of inorganic particles is 3%,the mechanical
properties are the best. The impact strength and flexural strength are 177% and 54. 6% higher than those of
pure resin, respectively. The thermal stability of hybrid materials is better than that of pure resin.
