Abstract:AnovelmodifiedSiBCNprecursors(SiBCN/PMSA)wereobtainedbyblendingSiBCN with
polymethylsilylacetylene(PMSA)ascross-linkingagent.ThestructureofthemodifiedprecursorswascharacterizedbyFT-
IR.Thecuringbehaviorofthemodifiedprecursorandthethermalstability,oxidativeresistanceoftheceramicresidueswereevaluatedbyDSC,
TGA,XRDandmufflefurnacescalcinationmethods.
TheresultsshowthatPMSA wascompatiblewithSiBCNprecursor.Theceramicyieldsincreasedsignificantlyduetothecross-
linkingreactionbetweentheC≡CbondsofPMSAandtheSi-HbondsofSiBCNat
lowtemperature.Thehighestceramicyieldwas84.85%.Theceramicresiduesweredenseandexhibitedgood
oxidativestabilityatelevatedtemperature.
