    Abstract:

    AstudyofimageprocessinganddataanalysisofSEM micrographsofthreekindsofcarbonfibersamples wasdescribedinthispaper.ImageprocessingsoftwareincludingImageProPlus,MatlabandPhotoshopwasemployedto studythesectionpatternsofcarbonfibersaswellasquantitativelyanalyzeandcontrasttheirroundness(α)anddiameter.TheroundnessesofGCF-1,GCF-2andT300are0.980,0.809and0.846respectively.Byusingthismethod,thephysical propertiesofcarbonfiber’ssurfacecanbequantitativelycharacterized.
