    Abstract:

Carbon fiber(CF)/basalt fiber(BF) hybrid fibers plain fabric reinforced phenolic resin composite was synthesized. The composite laminates were tested and the interlaminate shear strength, thermal properties and ablation behaviors were studied by adjusting its resin content. The testing results indicated that the CF/BF hybrid fiber reinforced composites combined the advantages of both carbon fiber and basalt fiber. When resin content is 35%,the composite performance reach extreme value:warp and weft interlayer shear strength are 21 MPa and 20 MPa.When resin content is 39.5%,thermal conductivity and linear ablation rate are 0.366 W/(m·K) and 87 μm/s respectively. The properties of new composites has complied with the rules of hybrid effect.
