This paper reviews the development of research on the composition and detection of interphase, and binding strength of metal matrix composites. Furthermore, existing cohesive models for characterizing the interphase of metal matrix composites are analyzed based on traditional fracture mechanics. On this basis, the cohesive constitutive relation and parameter acquisition method are described, as well as the application of simulation in the interphase of metal matrix composites, and the focus and direction of future research are proposed.
